Job Title: EVENT STAFF
Salary: $12.00 per hour. Event Staff are hired based on the student event schedule. Social security, worker's compensation, state disability, and unemployment insurance.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and create an atmosphere of safety and appropriate student participation.
  • Provide assistance to students or staff when needed. Enforce school policies at all times.
  • Oversee student-sponsored events both on and off campus.
  • Watch for alcohol and substance usage at events and be able to recognize and assist people who need medical attention. For events in which alcohol is allowed, a staff member from the Student Activities office will supervise the event.
  • Observe student behavior, de-escalate conflicts for escorting student out of the event, requesting help if needed.
  • Monitor the areas where the event is taking place. (i.e. keep an eye on entrances and exits, make sure no one is entering or leaving the event illegally, watch for tampering with or removing anything from the property, etc.).
  • You will be trained in safety policies and procedures. Reports to Assistant Director.
  • ***If you are scheduled to work and event and later find that you cannot attend, you must notify the Student Involvement 24 hours prior to the event and find another Event Staff person to take your place.***

Qualifications: Conflict management skills, event management experience, strong interpersonal skills and reliability required.
