| Position Responsibilities: - Saint Mary’s College invites applications and nominations for the Dean of Admissions to establish and implement strategies to recruit and enroll undergraduate students who meet the institution's enrollment goals and further the mission of the College.
- Work in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse campus environment. Effectively communicate with a diverse community of faculty, staff, students, alumni and donors. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions.
- Reporting to the Vice Provost for Enrollment, the Dean of Admissions will provide leadership and direction to the admissions staff, develop and implement innovative and creative recruitment strategies, oversee the application process as well as make final admission determinations and develop, implement and manage the department budget.
- Establish direction of recruitment efforts, initiate and establish strategies that will enable the College to reach enrollment goals. Analyze data and make enrollment projections.
- Analyze return on investment of various efforts. Provide data and analysis to the Vice Provost of Enrollment.
- Review tactics that are employed in the recruitment effort. Collaborate with Vice Provost of Enrollment and Director of Financial Aid in determining packaging models. Ensure recruitment messaging is in line with institutional identity and enrollment goals.
- Stay current on new innovations and best practices and incorporate new initiatives.
- Work with College leaders, deans, faculty members, students and alumni to ensure that recruitment and admission efforts are coordinated and consistent with other institutional goals and objectives.
- Provide ongoing leadership to the department to maintain morale and focus on departmental objectives, empower staff to work effectively and coach staff on performance, perform reviews and provide ongoing feedback to staff.
- Create job descriptions for positions within Admissions, screen, interview and select qualified candidates for open positions. Manage department budget, determine where to allocate fiscal resources and approve expenditures.
- Conduct compelling presentations about SMC to prospective students and parents. Interview and advise prospective students.
- Create copy for letters and brochures. Approve messaging and copy of all marketing materials.
- Serve on numerous campus committees to represent the Admissions/Enrollment area, to share information, advise and make recommendations relating to enrollment, marketing and communications.

| Qualifications: - Masters degree required and a minimum of eight (8) years of admissions and/or admissions related experience in higher education or in similar settings, which includes increasingly responsible duties.
- Demonstrated record of success in expanding the size, quality and diversity of an institution’s applicant pool.
- Thorough knowledge of admissions policies, procedures and trends and ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students.
- Proven administrative and organizational skills, supervisory experience required, along with outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interact effectively with a range of diverse constituents, colleagues and personalities, highly developed organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated self-confidence, including the ability to lead and direct the efforts of others.
- Ability to communicate the Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts mission and character of the College.
- Demonstrated creativity to produce effective programming for a variety of audiences is essential.
- Proficient in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), internet and email usage.
- Travel; work many evenings and weekends.
