Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk and Cashier
Position Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Director of Student Accounts, the Accounts Receivable Clerk/Cashier is responsible for performing daily cashiering and accounts receivable functions.
  • This position is required to work at the counter and serves as the back-up producer of the student identification cards.
  • Provides excellent customer service and support to students, parents, and the College community by offering professional, accurate, and timely service over the telephone, in person, and via email.
  • Assists students with questions regarding their account.
  • Advises students of their financial obligation.
  • Identifies and resolves billing or payment problems.
  • Assists outside Departments with regard to non-student cash deposits.
  • Posts all cash receipts for student and non-student payments.
  • Posts and reconciles electronic third party billing payments.
  • Balances and reconciles all daily cash receipts and prepares bank deposits.
  • Posts and reconciles all daily Internet payments to student accounts.
  • Disburses petty cash and releases refunds.
  • Maintains security and accuracy of cash drawer and petty cash drawer.
  • Follows up on returned checks and prepares checks for redeposit.
  • Maintains list of students disallowed from cashing personal checks.
  • Maintains all non-student deposit files.
  • Establishes and maintains positive staff and public relations image.
  • Helps support the Business Office with various clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs back-up services for the student identification card function.
  • Assists with taking photos for students, faculty, and staff for I.D. cards.
  • Assists with the processing and distribution of I.D. cards and backing up the appropriate data and files.
  • Work in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse campus environment. 
  • The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable functions in an automated system is required.
  • One year prior experience in cash handling. 10-key and general office skills necessary.
  • Demonstrated skills in the operation of personal computers with the ability to learn new software.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft operating systems, such as Excel and Word, including internet and email.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and establish priorities and work in an organized manner is essential.
